If you have good control of nets and will use them until they wear out, the answer is simple: use the heaviest net you can afford.

Heavier nets are exponentially stronger than lighter weight nets. So a 4 oz / sq yd net will last about 4 times longer under normal use than a 2 oz / sq yd net.
